Hobe Sound, Jupiter Island, and the Drive South
Hobe Sound keeps a quieter, greener feel than the towns to its south. Jonathan Dickinson State Park spreads across more than 10,000 acres along Federal Highway, with the Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River winding through it. Along the Indian River Lagoon and on Jupiter Island, the Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge protects what it describes as one of the most productive sea turtle nesting areas in the Southeastern United States.
Next door, the Town of Jupiter Island has about 800 year-round residents and roughly 2,000 in season, with Hobe Sound Public Beach and the limestone shoreline of Blowing Rocks Preserve along its length. That seasonal rhythm shapes how we plan care for patients from both communities.

Dental Advice for Hobe Sound Residents
If you spend only part of the year in the area, a shared care plan helps prevent gaps between dentists.
Coordinate records
Bring a current medication list, recent X-rays, and notes about active treatment from your other dentist. Tell both offices when you expect to travel again.
Address changes before departure
A loose restoration, ongoing sensitivity, or gum swelling is easier to assess while you are still near the office. Call instead of waiting for the next season.
Watch for dry mouth
Persistent dryness may increase cavity risk. Sip water, consider sugar-free gum if appropriate, and ask your dentist to review possible causes.

Care Hobe Sound and Jupiter Island Patients Ask About
Longer drives make the most sense for care that rewards careful planning. Each link explains the process in detail.
Single implants and implant bridges. A 3D CBCT scan shows bone height, width, nerves, and sinuses. Dr. Rudnick uses it to plan each implant’s position and create a surgical guide before treatment day.
Full-arch teeth on implants. All-on-X replaces a full arch with fixed teeth on typically four to six implants, often with a same-day temporary arch. Bone grafting or a sinus lift is planned in advance when needed.
A smile makeover. Porcelain veneers, including e.max ceramic and minimal-prep options, along with whitening and bonding, previewed with digital smile imaging before any tooth is changed.
Rebuilding a worn bite. Years of grinding can wear teeth down. Full mouth rehabilitation combines T-Scan bite analysis with a phased plan to rebuild worn teeth using crowns, veneers, or implants.
Jaw pain, clicking, or headaches. Our TMJ evaluation measures jaw movement, muscle activity, and your bite, then starts with conservative, reversible care such as a custom oral appliance and self-care coaching.
Do You Live in Hobe Sound Part of the Year? Here’s How to Plan
If you split the year between Martin County and a home up north, a little planning keeps treatment from running into your travel dates.
Before You Arrive for the Season
Call or text with your arrival and departure dates. We can line up a cleaning and exam early in your stay, which leaves room to complete any follow-up care before you head north.
For Implants and Other Multi-Visit Plans
Dental implants need healing time between steps, usually measured in months, before the final crown or arch is placed. Dr. Rudnick will map each phase against your calendar so the timeline fits the months you’re here.
Keeping Records in Sync
With your permission, we can share X-rays and treatment notes with your dentist at your other home, so both offices stay current on your care.

Questions From Hobe Sound and Jupiter Island Patients
How long is the drive from Hobe Sound? Typically about 35–50 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. From central Hobe Sound, US-1 south to Northlake Boulevard is roughly 21 to 23 miles. Bridge Road west to I-95 is a bit longer, at roughly 25 to 27 miles, but keeps more of the drive on the interstate.
Do you see patients from Jupiter Island? Yes, we welcome patients from Jupiter Island as well as the Hobe Sound mainland. From the island, Bridge Road connects you to either route, or Beach Road leads to US-1 if you live near the southern end. Tell us where you’re coming from when you schedule, and we’ll help you choose a convenient appointment time.
Is it worth the drive for All-on-X or other implant work? Only you can weigh that, and we’re glad to give you the facts. Full-arch treatment here starts with an exam and 3D CBCT imaging, followed by a written plan that shows each phase, how many visits it involves, and the fees. Seeing the full plan up front makes it easier to judge whether the travel fits your life.
Can I start treatment here and finish it up north? Sometimes. Cleanings, fillings, and many single-visit procedures can be completed during your stay. Multi-step treatment such as implants or veneers usually goes most smoothly when one office completes it, because the planning, the surgical guide, and the final restoration are linked. We’ll discuss timing with you before you begin.
