Care That Matches Tequesta’s Unhurried Pace
Tequesta has kept its small-village feel since it was incorporated in 1957, growing out of a 1950s planned community centered on the Tequesta Country Club. Water frames daily life here, from the Loxahatchee River and the Intracoastal Waterway to the guarded ocean beach at Coral Cove Park on Beach Road.
Much of village life happens along Tequesta Drive, where the Lighthouse ArtCenter has offered exhibitions and art classes since 1964, and at Constitution Park, with its playgrounds, walking paths, and picnic pavilions. The village’s median age was over 50 in the 2020 census, and the dental questions Tequesta patients bring us often reflect that stage of life: replacing a worn crown, keeping gums healthy, or deciding between a new denture and implants.
We keep those conversations calm and unhurried. Dr. Rudnick shows you your X-rays or 3D images, explains each finding in plain language, and outlines your options with fees. You decide what to do and when, and larger plans can be phased over time.

Dental Advice for Tequesta Residents
Long-standing dental work can serve well for years, but changes around a restoration are worth checking early.
Notice a new edge or crack
If a crown feels loose, food repeatedly catches around a filling, or chewing causes a sharp twinge, arrange an exam. Avoid testing the tooth with hard foods.
Pay attention to gums
Bleeding when brushing or flossing should not simply be written off as normal. Tell the team how often it happens and whether it is in one spot or several.
Make home care manageable
Use fluoride toothpaste twice daily and clean between teeth once a day. Ask for help choosing a tool that fits around bridges, implants, or tight contacts.

What’s the Drive From Tequesta Like?
Expect about 15 to 17 miles, typically about 25–40 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. Two routes work well.
Head south on US-1. Cross the Loxahatchee River into Jupiter on the rebuilt US-1 bridge, where the Florida Department of Transportation finished its replacement project in December 2025.
Choose I-95 or stay on US-1. For the interstate, turn west on Indiantown Road and take I-95 south to exit 77. To skip the highway, stay on US-1 south to Northlake Boulevard in North Palm Beach.
Go west on Northlake Boulevard. From the I-95 exit, head west. From US-1, Northlake carries you west past the I-95 interchange. Either way, continue toward Military Trail.
Find us on the left. Our office at 4274 Northlake Blvd is on the south side of the road, shortly before Military Trail. Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of your medications to your first visit.
Treatments Tequesta Patients Often Ask About
Teeth and gums change over the years. These are the services that tend to come up as they do.
A denture that no longer fits well. The bone under missing teeth changes over time, so a denture that once fit can start to slip. We make new dentures and, for suitable candidates, snap-on dentures that attach to implants for added stability.
Replacing one tooth or several. A single implant, an implant bridge, or a full arch on typically four to six implants, each planned with 3D CBCT imaging so Dr. Rudnick can check bone and nerve position before treatment.
Worn or cracked crowns. Older crowns and large fillings wear out. For many teeth, we can scan, design, and mill a ceramic crown in one visit, which saves you a second trip down US-1.
Gums that bleed or recede. Scaling and root planing cleans below the gumline, followed by periodontal maintenance visits on a schedule matched to your gum health.
Nervous about dental visits. Nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation are available for suitable patients. Tell us what has made past visits hard, and we’ll plan breaks and explain each step before we take it.
Switching Dentists After Many Years? Here’s How to Make It Easy
If your longtime dentist has retired or moved away, starting fresh can feel like a chore. A little preparation makes the first visit more useful and saves repeat X-rays when your recent ones are still current.
Ask your previous office to send recent X-rays and records; our team can help with the request
Bring a full list of your medications, including blood thinners and bone-density medications, since they can affect dental planning
Tell us about any crowns, bridges, or implants you already have, and roughly when they were placed
Mention anything that has made visits hard before, such as a strong gag reflex or jaw soreness

Questions From Tequesta Patients
How long is the drive from Tequesta to your office? Most drives are about 15 to 17 miles and typically take about 25–40 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. Staying on US-1 south to Northlake Boulevard avoids the interstate, while the route via Indiantown Road and I-95 keeps more of the trip on the highway. Our office is just east of Military Trail on Northlake.
Is the US-1 bridge over the Loxahatchee River open again? Yes. The Florida Department of Transportation completed the replacement of the US-1 bridge over the Loxahatchee River and Intracoastal Waterway in December 2025, so the direct route south from Tequesta on US-1 is available again. As with any drive, it’s worth checking local traffic reports before you leave.
Can you replace my old denture with something more secure? Possibly. For suitable candidates, a snap-on implant-retained denture attaches to dental implants, and fixed All-on-X teeth are supported by typically four to six implants per arch. Dr. Rudnick starts with an exam and 3D CBCT imaging to check your bone, then explains which options fit your health, goals, and budget.
What if I take blood thinners or other medications? Tell us when you schedule and bring a complete list. Some medications affect bleeding, healing, or the safety of certain procedures, so Dr. Rudnick reviews them before any treatment and may coordinate with your physician. Please don’t stop a prescribed medication on your own before a dental visit.
Will my dental insurance work at your office? Our team checks your benefits before your visit, files claims on your behalf, and gives you a written estimate before treatment begins. If you don’t have insurance, ask about our In-Office Dental Plan. We also offer financing through CareCredit and LendingClub.
Can I get an emergency visit coming from Tequesta? Call 561-625-1991 as early in the day as you can. We set aside time for urgent problems and see patients the same day when the schedule allows. Keep in mind that our Friday hours end at 2 pm. For swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
