Dental Care for a City Still Taking Shape
Westlake became Palm Beach County’s 39th municipality in June 2016, on land that had been farmed since the early 1960s as the Seminole Improvement District. Minto began building in 2014, and a decade later the city counts thousands of homes, with more approved and new stores rising near Seminole Pratt Whitney Road and 60th Street North.
That range of ages means a wide range of dental questions, from a first checkup after the moving boxes are unpacked to replacing missing teeth with implants or a denture. We welcome patients from Westlake at every stage, and we’ll explain your options in plain language before anything is scheduled.

Dental Advice for Westlake Residents
When you move, dental records and a simple home routine make it easier to establish care without losing track of prior work.
Bring the history
Ask your previous dentist to share recent X-rays and a list of major restorations. Tell the new team about recurring sensitivity, gum treatment, or a tooth being monitored.
Start with an exam
A first visit should assess teeth, gums, and existing work before deciding on treatment or cosmetic changes. Ask which findings need action now and which can be watched.
Keep the basics steady
Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and clean between teeth once a day. Water is a useful default drink between meals.

How Do I Drive to the Office From Westlake?
The drive is about 17 miles, and roughly 12 of them are on Northlake Boulevard. It typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day.
Head north on Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. From Town Center Parkway or your neighborhood entrance, take Seminole Pratt Whitney Road north to its intersection with Northlake Boulevard, where Northlake begins.
Turn right onto Northlake Boulevard. Drive east through the Coconut Boulevard intersection and on past the Beeline Highway. There’s no highway to merge onto and no toll.
Watch for Military Trail. Continue through the Jog Road and Military Trail intersections. Our office at 4274 Northlake Blvd is on the right, on the south side of the road, just past Military Trail. If you reach I-95, you’ve gone a little too far.
Bring your history with you. Check in with a photo ID, your insurance card, a medication list, and the name of your previous dentist so we can request your records.
Where Westlake Patients Can Start
A first checkup after your move. A cleaning, a thorough exam, and digital X-rays if your old records aren’t available. It gives you a clear baseline and a chance to ask about anything that was put off during the move.
Several missing teeth or a loose denture. Options range from snap-on implant-retained dentures to fixed All-on-X full-arch teeth, typically on 4 to 6 implants per arch. Every plan starts with a 3D CBCT scan.
Gum care for the long run. Bleeding or receding gums can signal periodontal disease. Scaling and root planing cleans below the gumline, and a maintenance schedule helps you and our hygienist keep watch.
Comfort options if you feel anxious. Tell us if dental visits make you tense. We explain each step before we start, take breaks when you need them, and offer nitrous oxide or oral conscious sedation for suitable patients.
Moving to Westlake? How to Bring Your Dental History Along
Dental records are easy to leave behind in a move, and having them makes your first visit here more useful. A few quick steps help.
Ask your previous dental office to send recent X-rays and treatment notes to us, or request copies to bring with you.
Jot down any crowns, implants, root canals, or bridges you’ve had, with approximate dates if you know them.
If you were partway through treatment, such as aligners or an implant, bring your written treatment plan.
Check whether your dental insurance changed with your move or a new job, and bring your current card and medication list.

Questions From Westlake Patients
How far is your office from Westlake? About 17 miles by car from central Westlake, most of it on Northlake Boulevard. The drive typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. Northlake and Okeechobee Boulevard are the main east–west roads for the western communities, so Northlake can be busier at rush hour; a mid-morning appointment is often an easier drive.
Is there another route from Westlake besides Northlake Boulevard? For most of Westlake, Northlake is the most direct. From the southern end of the city, another option is Seminole Pratt Whitney Road south to Southern Boulevard, then Florida’s Turnpike north to Exit 107 and Jog Road to Northlake, heading east. The Turnpike is a toll road, so a live traffic app can help you choose on the day.
I just moved to Westlake. How do I transfer my dental records? Call your previous dental office and ask them to send recent X-rays and treatment notes to Rudnick Dentistry. Offices usually need your written authorization, which they can send you. You can also request copies and bring them along. If your records aren’t available, we’ll take the X-rays you need at your first visit.
Do you offer options for missing teeth or a denture that slips? Yes. Depending on your bone, health, and goals, options include a removable denture, snap-on implant-retained dentures, or fixed All-on-X full-arch teeth, often with a same-day temporary arch. Some patients need bone grafting first. Dr. Rudnick plans implant care with 3D CBCT imaging and explains costs and timelines before you decide.
Can I get an urgent appointment if I’m driving in from Westlake? Often, yes. Phone us at 561-625-1991 first thing in the morning. Our schedule holds time for urgent problems, and same-day visits are possible when openings allow. If swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 rather than making the drive.
Will my dental insurance work at your office? Our team verifies your benefits before your appointment, files claims on your behalf, and gives you a written estimate before treatment. If your plan changed with your move, bring the new card. Without insurance, ask about our In-Office Dental Plan or financing through CareCredit and LendingClub.
