When Jaw Symptoms Need a Closer Look
Persistent jaw pain, restricted movement, or difficulty chewing can affect daily life. A careful history and examination help determine the next step. The cause should not be assumed from the symptoms alone.
An Evaluation at Rudnick Dentistry
Dr. Rudnick is an LVI Fellow. His first TMJ evaluation usually takes 60 to 90 minutes and includes an exam, muscle palpation, jaw tracking, and EMG. The findings are explained in the context of your concerns.
Care May Involve More Than One Provider
Physical therapy or massage therapy may be recommended alongside treatment. In some cases of severe jaw locking, an oral surgeon is involved. If another dentist referred you, we share findings and updates after evaluation.
Choose a Plan You Understand
Ask who will provide each part of your care, how progress will be reviewed, and when you may return to your referring dentist. The purpose is a coordinated plan with realistic expectations.
